Privacy policy
Last updated September 15, 2026. HeyDarrin is the sole-proprietor practice of Darrin Smith in Austin, Texas. Contact: smithjd741@gmail.com.
I collect and use personal information to sell and deliver website, search, and campaign work, to answer support questions, and to send occasional professional outreach. I do not sell lists.
Checkout is processed by Stripe, Inc. When you pay, Stripe collects payment-card details, billing name, email, and transaction metadata on their servers. Card numbers never touch heydarrin.com. Stripe acts as an independent payment processor. See Stripe’s privacy policy. I receive confirmation of what you bought, the amount, and the email used at checkout so I can start intake and send a receipt.
From the shop, support form, or email: name, email, company, phone if you give it, project notes, and the service you selected. From outreach tracking: whether a unique link was opened or clicked, roughly when, and a coarse device/browser label. I do not use that data to build advertising profiles.
Site forms are sent through Resend so messages actually arrive. Resend processes the contents of the message in order to deliver it to me. I keep inquiries and support threads as long as needed to do the work and keep basic business records.
The public site stores a theme preference and a cart of service slugs in your browser (localStorage). Stripe may set cookies required to complete payment. There is no third-party ad network on these pages.
I use this information to perform a contract (your purchase), to reply to a request you initiated, to keep required tax and transaction records, and — for outreach — based on a legitimate interest in contacting people I already know professionally. I share data with Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), and hosting as needed to run the site. I do not sell personal information.
Payment records follow ordinary bookkeeping timelines. Project files stay while the relationship is active and for a reasonable archive after. Tracking logs are kept only to understand whether a specific note landed. The site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission is perfectly secure.
You can request a copy, a correction, or deletion of information I hold, or opt out of outreach, by writing smithjd741@gmail.com or using the unsubscribe page. Outreach emails include a unique opt-out link. That link opens a confirmation page first so an accidental click does not remove you. California and similar state-law requests can use the same email. I will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
This site is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their information.
If this policy changes in a material way, I will update the date above. Continued use of the site after that date means the new policy applies to later collection.
